This year we had our third annual Winter Wonderland event and it has grown considerably since its inception in 2021. On Wednesday and Thursday, December 13th and 14th. Our students were able to choose from a selection of gifts for their parents and caregivers and then have the items wrapped to take home to place under the tree. In the months leading up to December, local communities like the Polo Club and Congregation B’Nai Torah collected gently use items and small housewares. Special attention was paid to assuring that we had a variety of options that would be appropriate for all members of the families. Jewelry, picture frames, and tool sets seemed to be among the most popular choices. Witnessing the children’s sheer excitement at the prospect of surprising their families with the perfect presents was truly heartening.
